Operation International Memories - The "HART" Ceremony

DATE: Saturday December 9th, 2023

TIME: 11:50 AST (10:50 EST)

LOCATION: Ferry Point Bridge (St. Stephen, NB/ Calais ME)

This event has taken place over the past 16 years (except 2 years due to covid restriction), at the International Border in St. Stephen, that is called "HART" which stands for "Honouring Allies Remembering Together". This event started at the Border with 527 Simonds being the cadets on our side meeting cadets and Gold Star families on the US and exchanging a large wreath to be placed on the cenotaph in St. Stephen on behalf of all "Allies" Canadian and American who have died in the common fight as sister nations.

This is a small part of the Wreaths Across America Convoy that is leaving Maine on Saturday December 9th, with a stop at our border ceremony before continuing on route to Arlington National Cemetery. This ceremony has grown from St. Stephen to 5 other locations across the country all the way to Alaska. The story behind the Worcester family donating wreaths quietly for years to Arlington National Cemetery, and how Wreaths Across America became what it is today is an amazing story. Please take the time to check them out.

I am honored to be tasked with bringing together the Gold Star Mothers and Silver Star Families and members of our communities for this year's Ceremony.

I look forward to meeting all who are able to attend this year.
