The by-laws that help keep residents safe need enforcement in order to be effective. In St. Stephen, by-law enforcement is part of the Protective Services Department. The By-law Officer and Building Inspector both operate from the municipality’s Fire Hall on Union Street. Our by-law enforcement staff are available to assist residents in such matters as standards of residential buildings, maintenance, unsightly premises, and other essential services that safeguard our community.
