OneBagFull Community Food Drive Returns to NB & PEI

The OneBagFull Community Food Drive is returning to communities across New Brunswick andPrince Edward Island, uniting residents, congregations, and community partners to help thosefacing food insecurity. Volunteers will deliver door hangers mid-week (April 28 or 29, depending oncommunity), with donation collection set for Saturday, May 2 at 10 a.m.

This third annual effort is coordinated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in partnership with FeedNB and local community organizers. Volunteers will deliver door hangersinviting neighbours to fill one bag with non-perishable food items. Organizers say the campaignmakes giving simple, local, and meaningful while strengthening the community response to hunger.“Community partnerships make a real difference,” said Katherine Hann, Provincial Coordinator ofOneBagFull. “This door-to-door campaign delivers donation requests directly to households with atangible, low-effort ask. Past responses have been remarkable - we are surrounded by generosity.”

FeedNB supports a substantial provincial network focused on food rescue and distribution, schoolbreakfast programs and logistical aid to community agencies.“Demand at our food banks hasreached historic highs across New Brunswick. Initiatives like OneBagFull are essential becausethey mobilize neighbourhoods right at their doorstep. Every filled bag is a testament to solidaritythat provides concrete help to a family in our community, ensuring they don’t have to skip a meal.”Stephane Sirois, executive director, Feed NB. In Prince Edward Island, community food initiativesplay a vital role in addressing local food insecurity.
