SSFD Adds New Equipment to their Inventory

fire department

A big thank you to our volunteers and community partners!

The St. Stephen Fire Department (SSFD) has added new equipment thanks to firefighter fundraising efforts, including an infrared thermal imaging camera and 18 pairs of CSA-rated wildland firefighting boots.

We’d like to give a special shoutout to Emera Pipeline for their generous $10,000 donation to the firefighters’ fundraising fund, which covered the full cost of these purchases. This contribution followed SSFD’s recent participation in a joint mock emergency exercise—an excellent example of collaboration in action.

These new wildland boots will help keep our volunteers safer and more comfortable when responding to wildland fires. The thermal imaging camera also aligns with two others already purchased by the municipality, ensuring all three engines at the St. Stephen Station are equipped with standardized, high-quality tools.

Our staff and volunteer firefighters are always ready to answer the call—day or night—and we are incredibly grateful to have such a dedicated group serving our community. Their commitment, professionalism, and willingness to step up when it matters most does not go unnoticed. Thank you to them all!
