Call for Applications — Community Well-Being Task Force

The Municipal District of St. Stephen is seeking applications from residents interested in serving on the Community Well-Being Task Force.

About the Task Force

The Community Well-Being Task Force is an advisory body established by Council to provide insight and recommendations on strategies that promote the social, physical, mental, and environmental well-being of residents. The group will work collaboratively with municipal staff, community organizations, law enforcement, and provincial agencies to identify local priorities and support initiatives that enhance quality of life for all residents.

Membership

The Task Force will consist of up to seven (7) members, including representatives from Council, Municipal staff, the RCMP, the Department of Social Development, and up to three (3) community members, with at least one community representative residing within 300 metres of the Homeless Shelter located in the municipality.

Role and Commitment

Members will:

- Attend regular quarterly meetings and participate in at least one public information meeting every six months;

- Review and discuss matters affecting community well-being;

- Contribute experience, local knowledge, and constructive input;

- Work collaboratively and respectfully with other members; and

- Refrain from lobbying activities, as all advocacy and intergovernmental relations remain the domain of Municipal Council.

Appointments are for a one-year term, with the possibility of renewal at Council's discretion. Service is voluntary and unpaid.

Eligibility

Community Member Applicants must:

- Be residents of the Municipal District of St. Stephen;

- Demonstrate an interest or background in community well-being, such as health, housing, social services, recreation, or education; and

- Be willing to collaborate in a respectful, non-partisan, and solution-focused environment.
