We are excited to host our annual Board Governance Workshop on October 26th! There is a good crew signed up but there are many more spaces available so we wanted to reach out to the network with a little nudge to sign up and share this opportunity with your organizations, networks, colleagues and friends!

What will you learn?
This workshop is a deep dive into the essentials that every Board Member and Executive Director should know in order to govern their Non-Profit organization.

Sari LaBelle from SL Strategies and Insights will lead participants through in-session assessments and group discussions to provide participants with a deeper understanding of their specific priorities for governance improvement and how they can tackle these priorities for their organization.

Topics will include:

  • legal obligations and role of the board,
  • differentiating between governance and operations,
  • rightsizing and customizing an organization's governance model and practices for an organization's size and developmental stage,
  • use of committees,
  • recruitment and orientation,
  • policy development, and
  • optimizing the relationship between the Board, ED and staff.

Participants will leave the workshop with a tool kit of best practices to put into use in their organization and an action plan for improving their organization's governance starting on day 1 after the workshop.

Where: Magaguadavic Place in St George, NB. (11 J.O. Spinney Drive Saint George, NB)

When: Saturday October 26, 2024 from 10am-3pm. This is a full day course, lunch will be provided but feel free to bring your own lunch if preferred.
