As water bills are delivered this week, residents may see an increase or decrease in the amount they are charged for water and sewer services delivered by the municipality.
This change is a result of Council approving a flat rate approach to utility billing as part of a general review of billing procedures and to provide efficiency to the billing process.
Rates were determined based on budget requirements and Council approved administration to review classifications and apply to ensure that all user groups were treated fairly and consistently.
This change is designed to be revenue neutral and to fund budget expenditures.
Rates and classifications were approved as an amendment to Schedule A of Bylaw W-1, a copy of which is included with this notice.
