Emergency Management response in the Town of St. Stephen is coordinated by the Chief Administration Office. The Fire Chief is their Assistant Coordinator.
Local emergencies within municipal boundaries are the responsibility of the town, as long as the town is capable of adequately responding. Should town become incapable of handling a situation, it can request the assistance of the province through the Regional Emergency Measures Coordinator for Region 10. The province can allocate resources in assistance of local government in times of emergency. Should the province’s capabilities be exceeded, they can in turn reach out the federal government for assistance.
