Joyce Wright

Councillor

Joyce Wright is a first time Councillor, elected in 2022 to the newly formed Municipal District of St. Stephen (starting January 1st, 2023).

She was born at Charlotte County Hospital, and has lived in the St. Stephen area all of her life. She loves her community, and the larger region and says she can't imagine a better place to live! She is blessed to be a mom to five amazing people, and Nana to 7, all of whom live in this Municipal District as well.

From January 2015 to April 2020, she served on the board of the Southwest New Brunswick Service commission, working with mayors and rural representatives from Harvey to Lepreau, and the islands. The Commission implemented the blue-bin recycling program, and was instrumental in many other regional efforts, from trail development to housing studies and so much more.

She is a licensed professional working in the financial services sector, but is excited to be getting involved in local governance once again after the hiatus she took to focus on her career.

She is aware the amalgamation plan will not be without its challenges, but says she is confident that we, as a municipal district, can truly be a success in making this transition as seamless as possible for our residents.

"We have a great team as Council, and an amazing community to work for."
