After graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Acadia University in Wolfville, NS and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Mark moved to St. Stephen where he has resided for 39 years. Shortly after moving here, he met the love of his life, Carole Noel, married her and they raised two children together. From the moment he arrived in St. Stephen, Mark has been an active member of the Kiwanis Club of St. Stephen raising funds for community projects such as the skateboard park, Chocolate Park splashpad and community playground equipment. He has been part of Kiwanis/Rotary Radio Bingo operations for 28 years, which is a joint fundraising project by both service organizations, to generate funding which benefits our community.

Mark operated a public practice accounting firm, for 25 years, in downtown St. Stephen providing tax, audit and accounting services to small and medium sized businesses, and local governments. Over this time, he acquired extensive experience with Public Sector Accounting Standards, New Brunswick Municipal Financial Reporting requirements, preparation of municipal financial statements, public sector operating and capital budget preparation, tangible capital asset management, funding source compliance requirements, Municipal Capital Borrowing applications, capital and operating reserve funds and provincial acts and regulations. He served as Financial Officer for both the Southwest New Brunswick Service Commission and Fundy Regional Service Commission until retirement this year.
